Before talking about the pet therapy, I would like to focus on five principles fonamentali presented in the 7th International Conference, (1995), Geneva: Animals, Health and Quality of Life ":
- Accept the right universal non-discriminatory to have a pet in all places and in all circumstances, if I 'animal is properly cared for and does not affect the rights of non-pet owners.
- take the appropriate measures to ensure that the human environment is planned and designed to take account of the needs and characteristics of pets and their owners.
- regulated Encourage the presence of pets in schools and school programs. Convince teachers and educators of the benefits produced by this presence through appropriate programs training.
- To ensure access to regulated pet hospitals, nursing homes and other health care for everyone, whatever their age, they need this type of contact.
- officially recognize those animals as an effective therapeutic interventions, which are specifically trained to help people overcome limitations and disabilities, promoting the development of programs to train these animals and ensure that the knowledge of their capacity is included in the teaching of basic health and social professions.
E 'is now certain that the presence of an animal increases by a psychological point of view the individual's life, reducing loneliness and depression by acting as social support, giving a boost to the care of itself has become a significant source of daily activities.
The "Pet Therapy" is not helpful in solving all diseases. For a correct application of the therapy with animals (this is the meaning in Italian), technical experts are involved in human behavior and those of animal behavior.
So serious pet therapy interventions are monitored by a team composed of veterinarians, psychologists, doctors, teachers, and more.

Thanks to the play, which usually turns out to be something nice, you increase the good mood, socialization develops and strengthens the body.
Even the animals, especially puppies, love to play a lot and can be excellent playmates, where isolation and loneliness dominate (autism and other situations of isolation).
"The animals can reduce anxiety and prepare a stimulation of the nervous system or, in other words, lower stress, becoming a source of contact pleasant, relaxing a vision and a perception of safety and peace. "(Friedmann & Thomas, 1985, Katcher & Friedmann, 1980).
